1.1 Inch Anti-Aircraft Gun
WWII U.S. Submarine Weapons, Armament & Firepower

World War II Destroyers

1.1 Inch Anti Aircraft Gun
1.1 Inch Anti Aircraft Gun

1.1

Considered to be an intermediate range anti-aircraft gun, the 1.1 inch  presented some serious challenges. Prone to overheating and jamming after a few rounds, general difficulties in operation and maintenance resulted in the United States Navy had abandoned this problematic weapon in favor of the Bofors 40mm cannon - a much more reliable and effective weapon.
